In an interview with Financial Times, Sony first fortified that it was working on a new console. CEO “Kenichiro Yoshida” confirmed that it is “necessary to have a next-generation hardware.” It was also said that the design of PS5 would not be completely different from previous generations. - The 3D Audio Chip: PS5 is going to arrive with a custom 3D audio unit installed within its AMD processor. For this, Cerny said: “As a gamer, it’s been a little bit of frustration that audio did not change too much between PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.”
- SSD and fast Loading: In the same interview, Cerny also said that PlayStation 5 will come embedded with a solid-state drive (SSD) for storage. This is an extensive deal as it enables games to be loaded and run much, much faster than on a standard hard disk drive (HDD), allowing gamers to enjoy their PS5 games quicker.
- 8K Screen Resolution: After 4K, now its turn for 8K. Do you know what is 8K? It is all about the screen resolution, the no of pixels. Full HD means The horizontal resolution of 1920 pixels and a vertical resolution of 1080 pixels. The 4K resolution means The horizontal resolution of 3480 pixels and a vertical resolution of 2160 pixels. Finally, the 8K screen resolution means The horizontal resolution of 7680 pixels and a vertical resolution of 4320 pixels. Such a huge change! This means 8K has four times as many pixels as 4K and 16 times the number as Full HD.
- Next Level of Gaming: When Cerny was asked about the PlayStation 5’s VR capabilities and if a next-gen PSVR headset will launch alongside it, he said that: “I won’t go into the details of our VR strategy today beyond saying that VR is very important to us and that the current PSVR headset is compatible with the new console.”
